Thursday 1st June 9-12pm – 11+ Writing

Here at Kip, we have developed a writing technique that helps to make writing more manageable. We find lots of our children find it difficult to know where to start with their writing as they want to include all the literary elements they have learned. Our writing technique makes writing more ‘formulaic’ so that the students can follow simple steps to ensure that their writing ‘ticks the boxes’ needed to get the highest marks that they can in their 11+exam.  NOW FULL – If you wish to be added to the waiting list please email admin@tuitionbrentwood.co.uk

Friday 2nd June 9-12pm – 11+ Maths 3 (Algebra)

We have recognised that an in depth understanding of Algebra is needed to pass the 11+ maths exam for both CSSE and FSCE – it is a complex topic which connects to many other mathematical themes, such as: finding a missing number using inverse techniques, recognising patterns, nth term sequences, BIDMAS and knowing how to break down a complex word problem and use a formula to work it out. This workshop will focus on the first stages of these crucial topics and is recommended for anyone taking the 11+ this September! NOW FULL – If you wish to be added to the waiting list please email admin@tuitionbrentwood.co.uk

Friday 2nd June 9.30-12.30pm – KS1 Charlie’s Chocolate Morning

Friday 2nd June 9.30-3pm – KS2 Charlie’s Chocolate Day

Welcome to the magical world of chocolate!  This workshop day is inspired by the beloved classic children’s book, ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’.  Kids will get to experience the wonder and excitement of Wonka’s chocolate factory as they participate in a variety of fun and engaging activities.  Once inside the Kip factory, the children will get to dip fruits in warm melted chocolate.  They will also get to design and make their own chocolate bars and decorate them with an array of toppings at the candy bar station.  Once created they will use their English and drama skills to advertise them to the masses!

Next, the kids will get to step into the inventing room and come up with their own wacky and wonderful candy creations.  They will also solve maths problems and puzzles to unlock the secret ingredients and win special prizes.

Finally, in the story telling corner, children will be invited to let their imaginations run wild and write their own short stories set in the magical world of Willy Wonka.  They will use their creativity to craft their own characters, inspired by the whimsical and fantastical elements of the story.

This Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed day is the perfect way to indulge their sweet tooth while using their maths and writing skills.  It’s sure to be a day they will never forget.
