11+ Maths – Algebra focus workshop (In Centre) – 04/06/21 @ 10:00 – 13:00 (FULLY BOOKED)
We have recognised that an in depth understanding of Algebra is needed to pass the 11+ maths exam for both CSSE and CEM – it is a complex topic which connects to many other mathematical themes, such as: finding a missing number using inverse techniques, recognising patterns, nth term sequences, BIDMAS and knowing how to break down a complex word problem and use a formula to work it out. This workshop will focus on these crucial topics and is recommended for anyone taking the 11+ this September!

(FULLY BOOKED)
This vital workshop will focus on Verbal Reasoning, which involves verbal ability; activities to do with letters and words and Non-Verbal Reasoning which involves visual ability; activities to do with shapes and patterns. These topics are rarely taught in school which means it is important to dedicate time to understanding how to answer the different questions. Our expert teacher will help students to tackle the different types of questions they may be faced with in both the Chelmsford Girl’s 11+ CEM exam and Private School Entry exams.
Year 5 11+ Writing Workshop (ONLINE ONLY) – From the 1st of June – the 4th of June @ 09:00 – 09:40 (FULLY BOOKED)
Here at Kip, we have developed a writing technique that helps to make writing more manageable. We find that lots of our children find it difficult to know where to start with their writing as they want to include all the literary elements they have learned. Our writing technique makes writing more ‘formulaic’ so that the students can follow simple steps to ensure that their writing ‘ticks the boxes’ needed to get the highest marks that they can in their 11+ and other future exams. This workshop will be spread over 4 days on Zoom, giving the students a chance to absorb new techniques each day and gain more confidence with daily practice.
